General Questions

  • We implemented tiered packages to create predictable pricing, reduce surprises, and provide proactive, year-round tax and financial support.

  • We evaluate your complexity (entities, income sources, real estate, investments), your planning needs, and how often you want to communicate.
    Your engagement letter will also show your recommended package based on your situation and past needs.

  • Yes. You can upgrade at any time, and downgrade at renewal if your situation becomes less complex.

  • Our Essential tier is designed for clients with simpler needs who primarily want annual filing. Our focus, however, is on ongoing planning and advisory relationships.

Tax Services

  • Preparation and filing of federal and state returns, accuracy checks, optimization of deductions and credits, and secure electronic filing.

  • Bookkeeping, payroll, sales tax, amended returns, IRS audit representation, and 1099 software filing fees (these may be added separately).

  • Premier typically includes up to two entities (depending on complexity). Comprehensive includes one entity. Additional entities are priced as add-ons.

    • Full Strategy (Premier): Deep, year-round planning and implementation guidance.

    • Lite Strategy (Comprehensive/Enhanced): Key planning strategies with fewer meetings.

    • Safe Harbor (Essential): Focused on compliance without in-depth tax planning.

Bookkeeping & Accounting

  • We review transaction volume, number of accounts, cash vs. accrual needs, reporting requirements, and overall complexity.

  • All tiers include bank feed classification, reconciliations, and standard financial reports. Higher tiers add accruals, forecasting, budgeting, cash monitoring, integrations, and advanced oversight.

  • Payroll processing, timesheet calculations, sales tax filings, software subscription fees, and historical cleanup (available as add-ons).

    • Cleanup work is billed hourly. After cleanup is complete, ongoing maintenance falls under the appropriate monthly package.

Billing & Engagement

  • Your package fees are billed in equal monthly installments through autopay. This reflects ongoing planning, communication, and support throughout the year.

  • Once set up, payments are processed automatically each month through your TaxDome portal.

  • We retry payment and notify you. Work pauses until billing is current.

    • No. Packages represent reserved capacity, planning commitments, and year-round support.

    • This refreshes scope, pricing, responsibilities, and compliance requirements to keep expectations aligned.

Workflow, Timing & Communication

    • Timing depends on your package level, when documents are received, and whether your books are current. Priority order is typically: Premier → Comprehensive → Enhanced → Essential.

    • Premier: Quarterly + additional strategy calls

    • Comprehensive: Semi-annual meetings

    • Enhanced: Annual meeting

    • Essential: Email support; strategy sessions can be booked as add-ons

Taxdome & Technology

  • Your accountant and/or tax professional will create an account for you and send an invitation email. 

    1. Open the invitation email from your accounting firm and click the "Activate Account" button.

    2. Create your password. It must be at least 12 characters long and include one uppercase letter, two numbers, and two special characters (like !, $, %).

    3. Confirm the password by entering it a second time, then click Submit.

    4. Once activated, you can access your portal on the web or download the TaxDome mobile app for convenient access and document scanning. 

    If you didn't receive an email, or prefer to register yourself, you can go to your accounting firm's unique TaxDome URL (e.g., yourfirmname.taxdome.com) and click the "Sign up" link, provided your firm allows self-registration. 

    • Yes. All communication, documents, signatures, and payments will be managed through the secure portal.

    • Check your spam or promotions folder. If you still don’t see it, contact us and we’ll resend it.

    • Yes. We can add multiple users to one account upon request.

    • No, but most clients prefer it for notifications, quick uploads, messaging, and easy access.

    • All documents should be uploaded securely through TaxDome.

    • TaxDome for the client portal and e-signatures, Microsoft Teams for meetings, QuickBooks Online for bookkeeping, and BizEquity/planning tools for higher-tier advisory services.
